Labour Day in North America is on the first Monday in September -- an important public holiday. Firstly, after long summer vacation school commences, for the students the sad end of leisure days, for many parents the lucky beginning of a kid's free home again. Secondly, Labour Day marks the last long summer weekend, last chance to stay over in your lodge or to go for boating. And thirdly, mosquitoes (and other bugs) are significantly lower in numbers

A long summer weekend in the Okanagan Valley with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius. We stayed at a B&B location in Penticton at the Southern edge of Lake Okanagan. The resort town is at the beginning of the famous Naramata Road, a stretch on the east bank of the lake of about 25 km with as many vineyards as kilometres.
